Jackie R Robinson (1/1919–10/1972)US Pro baseball player who became the 1st Black to play Major League Baseball. Robinson broke the color line when he started for the Brooklyn Dodgers on 4/15/1947 bringing the end to segregation in baseball, which relegated players to the Negro leagues since 1880s.

A friendly reminder this Labor Day that unions didn’t win weekends and the minimum wage and laws against child labor and sick leave by being nice, polite, or respectful. They won by fighting. They won by striking and struggling and being radicals. And we have to do the same.
