Very cool!

And I couldn't help myself because I am a weak, wretched critter in a fallen world:

The wild thing is Alcott paired everyone out of spite in the end. Since LW came out in two volumes originally, there was a time span where fans wrote her incessantly about putting characters together. She knew what they wanted. She didn't give it to 'em. She didn't want to write this stuff.

I saw this book a few days ago. I thought about you when I saw it. It also ticks the splurge box. www.press.jhu.edu/books/title/...

Didn't happen here either. I saw some vote no signs today, which just reminded me the state does it weird and I need to remember to vote the right way

It's in the same family of the "this is just my subjective opinion" preface genre for getting ahead of comments.

All that's to say... I'm thinking about these term uses a lot because it fascinates me.

Do "deconstruction" next. And "critical analysis". I say that from the related position of watching countless YT videos on video gaming. My take is a lot of the fluidity / wrong use with such words comes from the perception of sounding bad or people view them poorly. 1/2

That said, we’ve got to get better at distinguishing between the activities of:

- critique (creator-facing private feedback by peers/mentors)
- criticism (audience-facing public assessment)
- hype/boost (public-facing PR)
- fandom (public-facing enthusiasm)

Only 2 of those are uniformly positive.
