It's driving me batty that nobody except Heather Cox Richardson, the Washington Monthly, and myself is covering Trump's race to sell off (for likely demolition) "the Sistine Chapel of the New Deal," w/ murals by Ben Shahn, Philip Guston, etc. I've furnish links below to help reporters get started.

As Republicans inevitably blame mental health and not the guns for yet another school shooting - kindly remind them that 205 of them voted AGAINST a bill to expand school-based mental health services.

Trump isn’t the president and he’s not rich. What if he was your neighbor. A man with 5 kids from 3marriages and he is now with a Slovenian former model who was half his age. You need to go to hospital and there is no-one else available. Would you let Donald J. Trump babysit your 2 precious kids?

The IRS's free tax filing tool is now reportedly "gone," according to Trump's IRS chief.

This comes after Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the government for years to block IRS free file.

Intuit donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration.

See how this works?

Reading the Magician, by Colm Toibin, my 50th book of 2025. It is a disturbing reminder of a resister's plight as his nation devolves into Nazism. It is an biographical novel of Thomas Mann of Death in Venice and Magic Mountain, and how he emigrated with Einstein to Princeton during WWII.
