1972: Don't Call Me Altruistic, Paul Simon on doing a George McGovern benefit:
"I did one for McCarthy in 1968. It was disappointing work. The halls were bad & the sound system was lousy. I said I'd never do another one. I'm not a tremendous supporter of McGovern, but he's better than the others."

I had a great day at the Princeton Special Collections Dept! Documenting a treasure drove of original RAW documents from his correspondence w/ poet Ed Sanders. (On behalf of the OG!) 213 pages of RAW & Shea material. Processing everything now. Decent chance there's some unique gems in here :)))
