Stadium leverage ends up being a long game of chicken, where the two (or more!) sides issue ultimatums and hope no one calls their bluff. And while sports team owners aren't always good at this, all evidence is that elected officials are much, much worse.

Compton seemed like a potential first rounder coming into the spring, had a down year but could still be a good get for somebody later on day one.
The Ate His Fuckin Spinach Award for Day 1 of the combine goes to Arizona State LF Brandon Compton. Only nine HR this season but hit some absolute bombs in BP and posted consistent 110 EVs, up to 116.8. Nobody else who hit today was even close.
