Logistics specialist, unconcerned citizen, no hobbies. Urbanism/housing discourse, weed, beer, scifi & collapse. From Edmonton which explains a lot. East Vancouver
First went to a game in 2011. Regular fan going solo in the supporters section since 2014. Still went through the rough years because in the end it was still fun enough. Finally get the dream year. Do Canucks fans know this costs $40 or less? #vwfc

Matthew Good told me what this city would be like through his lyrics and I still moved here, no regrets.

I’m not going to make it to 900 rides by the Lime Vancouver anniversary of Sept 12, I’m only going to make it to 870-880 or 2.4 rides per day.

I’m at Port Moody Brewery Row, in line at Rewind and there were two older guys behind me. They asked which breweries were best. Without getting into subtleties I said “Twin Sails and Moody Ales”. One said “then why are you here?” “Because it’s my third stop!”

Edmonton has a good airport for a city its size. Calgary’s has always had an off vibe to me. Like yes you have a cool indoor mini bus on its own little roads with a crossing signal system, but a well designed airport shouldn’t need that.

At a baseball field I saw Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World at like 23 years ago.

Sometimes city council feels like we're making progress with basic rationality of what a city is, and sometimes it's this:

The Freedom Mobile Arch has taken shape and I’m going to say it now: this is going to be the low key star of Vancouver World Cup, at least for locals. The size of the wood beams is already impressive and it’ll look great finished. “Largest free span timber roof structure globally”

I’ve rode the distance from Vancouver to Edmonton on Lime scooters in their first 10 months of operation.

Good news to all loyal members of the People’s Communist Coop of Costco (PCCC), soon the glorious People’s Food Court Downtown Location will be again usable because the freeloading peasant non-members will be banished. Our God given right to a hotdog without undue wait is restored!

Messing around with ChatGPT generating anime style images of our cat. It does a great job but the funny thing is that it adds a tail to a cat that doesn’t have a tail. He is a Manx and naturally has no tail. You can tell it “no tail” but it otherwise adds it by default.

Big public hearing tonight for Jericho Lands and The Absent Mayor is still absent, but his scheming eunuch Trevor Ford is there to float around like Baron Harkonnen making sure ABC councillors are in line.

I’ve passed 250 rides/500km on Lime scooters in Vancouver in under 6 months of their operation. Despite it being an awkwardly small zone for much the time. It’s now as far east as Main St, Railtown, Chinatown, and in Mt Pleasant north of Broadway.
