Welp. BlueSky is over. It isn’t ever going to be done better than this.

We had the distinct honor of representing the Top Brands companies and John Ngan in this case. Thanks to @design-law.bsky.social (Sarah Fackrell) for highlighting it.

My father, child of two immigrants who got here from Greece just before Congress passed its first aggressively nativist immigration law (the Johnson-Reed Act of 1924), piloted 35 combat missions in a B-17 over Nazi Germany. He didn’t bomb Nazis so that a cosplaying Naziferatu could pull this crap.
It’s funny that Stephen Miller mentions “the boys at Normandy” because I would bet a significant percentage of the Americans who fought in World War II were the children of immigrants. That was the case in my family.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Here’s how the LA Times edited (massacred) an op-ed to make it say something very different from what the author originally wrote.
Wow, that's completely different! It's not just a new title and deleted paragraph, it's all over - I'm shocked they felt it appropriate to leave your name as the author. Here are screenshots of a diff showing all the changes:

I can’t believe we’re here, but here we are.
My dad was tortured by the Gestapo for 4 days and thrown in a concentration camp for being in the Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he would tell me things he learned in the Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things #Thread

The question of whether Elon REALLY meant to throw up a Nazi salute is meaningless because Elon's entire persona is oriented around destroying the public's capacity for sense-making. He's always "just joking" or "triggering the libs." That's just how democracy-hating illiberals communicate.

For no particular reason, here is Orson Welles reminding you to apply critical thinking to the media you consume.

The dominant broadcast mediums change over time, but the relevancy of the message will remain as ever.

Sergeant Gonell @sergeantaqgo.bsky.social sent me this picture. This is his call log. Each call is an automated Dept of "Justice" notification saying "The defendant you testified against is being released from the dept of corrections."
Each defendant assaulted him.

An odd way to learn of this honor, but I got tagged in a LinkedIn post this morning notifying me that I appeared at No. 1 on this list of "The Top 25 Intellectual Property Attorneys of 2024." attorneyintel.com/the-top-25-i...

Important reminder: Dunking on stupid shit just amplifies the stupid shit. Join the campaign for 4S: Stop spreading stupid shit.
Media and digital literacy are key to disrupting disinformation.

--clapping back/arguing just helps to amplify bad faith accounts & false material

--don't share "funny" disinfo to dunk on it; some will still believe it

--BLOCK, REPORT, and tell others to do same *without* sharing disinfo content
It was inevitable, but it’s still good to be aware that this is happening here, now.

If you see suspicious account/comment, remember: Don’t engage. Don’t argue. Don’t clap back. Don’t screenshot and share. Just block and move on.
