You don't know?? Idiot.
We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

Claude Sonnet 4 is lit. Anthropic figured out that coding is the killer app for AI and they've mastered it.

Poor image gens and text slop get a lot of media airtime but that isn't AI's strength. Creating completely NEW stuff is the jam, and Claude keeps delivering the goods.

Tesla stock is up today despite disastrous quarterly sales and dying sentiment for the brand.

Rumors are the spike in price is due to Elon possibly leaving DOGE, as if that's the only reason Tesla's brand has taken a beating.

Truth is Tesla cars are getting outcompeted in nearly every country.

For all the benchmark wins, Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro is still inferior to Claude 3.7 in real life coding. I've thrown so much stuff at it and it failed to live up to Claude's abilities every time.

I truly don't think the left understands what a gift AI is to the underprivileged. You can now literally write software (and sell it) without any programming knowledge, for $20/mo.

It's an absolute gamechanger and I sure hope all these lefty orgs are putting this out there. DM me if you need help.

Tesla stock has lost 25% of its value since Elon joined the Trump administration. Each day more investors see the damage his disastrous "DOGE" thing is doing to $TSLA's brand image.

Money talks.

Anthropic just released its latest version of its flagship AI, Claude 3.7. While many on this app decry AI for its artistic uses, its coding abilities bring the ability to create software to the masses - you no longer have to have any idea how to program to make genuine legit software. 🤯

I often read posts from people outside the tech industry who say AI is just a big money grab for the providers. But Meta, Microsoft, and countless others have released totally free powerful open-source models for anyone to use. You can run them on your own PC w/full privacy. Hard to say this is bad.

Similarities between 90s Microsoft and today's Google are uncanny. Like Microsoft in the 90s, nearly all of Google's core products now have functionality issues. Google's inability to break through in AI is reminiscent of MS's inability to gain traction with Internet Explorer. Antitrust cases...

Poor AI implementations are one of the big reasons why ordinary people think AI is lame, slop, etc. It certainly is when inexperienced businesses deploy these chatbots.

Here, Chevrolet's chatbot easily got turned into a Tesla sales rep.

Teachers are coming up with all sorts of innovative ways to catch students who cheat with AI. One idea I love is adding a weird instruction in white text (so it's not visible but gets copy/pasted) to the essay instructions.

Those whose papers include the weird instruction get got. 😁

Absolutely blown away by CodeBuff, a new AI coding assistant that makes coding so much easier and faster. Just explain what you want it in natural language and it delivers (most of the time). Exceeds Aider, Cline, etc. IMO.

My other popular opinion is that in-app purchases fucked mobile gaming.

Yes, there are exceptions; I know them. But the whole “our game gets unplayable after a point unless you buy coins” thing just means that games are no longer fun and developers aren’t trying to balance playability any longer.

I'm afraid the copyright lobby is never going to win this thing they're trying to do here. Fair Use law means anyone can train whatever they want, be it students, animals, a computer, or AI, on legally purchased copyrighted material.

Senator introduces bill to compel more transparency from AI developers
The legislation, if passed, would allow copyright holders to subpoena AI training data when trying to prove that their work was used without their consent.

Who would have guessed that Rhode Island would be a solar electricity powerhouse, now ranking #4 in the U.S. after Nevada, California, and Hawaii in terms of the percent of its yearly-averaged grid plus behind-the-meter electricity demand met solely by solar.
And here are some surprises

Which states lead utility plus behind-the-meter solar gen as a % of grid+BTM demand?

1. NV 28.4% U+4.9% BTM=33.3% Tot
2. CA 18.4+12.9=31.3%
3. HI 7.5+17.3=24.8%
4. RI 7.4+9.4=16.8%
5. AZ 10.7+6.0=16.7%
6. UT 13.3+2.9=16.2%
7. NM 12.3+2.62 = 14.9%
New data:

11 states generated 54-110% of electricity they consumed with Wind-Water-Solar for year Oct 1 '23-Sep 30 '24

10 of the 11 are among 20 lowest-cost electricity states March '24

SD 110% WWS
MT 86.5%
IA 79.4%
WA 72.6%
KS 70.2%
