Yep. I've kinda felt that way for a long time... like back to the Bush era at least... but this shit solidified it in a way I never thought I'd witness. It almost makes me a retroactive patriot for the days when we at least wouldn't be on the wrong side in WWIII.

In line with your oft-mentioned advice about adverbs, I think you can strike the word "basically".
