It should be needless to say, but it is perhaps at this moment worth saying, that transgender individuals have the same right as anyone else to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

A street joke turned into a shaggy dog story as told by Tolstoy. Norm was the best.
This is even better than I remembered it, mostly because of Conan's increasing discomfort. (It's possible that @joshgondelman.bsky.social first shared this years ago.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-MJ...

Derrick Rose reflected on his NBA career, saying he had one unexpected regret: He waited too long to open up to his teammates about his passion for chess.

The retired hooper is partnering with a top-ranked chess player as part of an initiative to make chess more appealing to casual participants.

Pretty mate in 2. Of course I missed it and lost on time (blitz game). #chesspunks

@drscull.bsky.social Got this today right after reading the "setting up motifs" chapter. David versus Goliath was also a showdown. #chesspunks

Is ten losses in a row in blitz worth the win that followed? What if I told you the win ended in a windmill tactic? #chesspunks

Considering changing my repertoire against d4 even though I'm objectively terrible and probably shouldn't even have a repertoire. Checked openingtree stats for chess.com games since 1 October.

White 1. e4 68 / 0 / 35
Black 1. e4 33 / 1 / 32
Black 1.d4 7 / 1 / 18

Ouch, d4.

chess.com review says I should have given up the rook for nothing instead of defending it. I guess it would just reduce the complexity and let stockfish see mate rather than just being +6 with an obvious-to-a-human rook and king versus king ending. #chesspunks

Played my first daily game on chess.com. As a perfectionist, the great thing about daily chess is you can think about a move as long as you want. Also, as a perfectionist, the terrible thing about daily chess is you can think as long as you want. #chesspunks

One away from my all-time puzzle rush score on chess.com with 22 seconds left and no strikes. Panicked and passed on two that I didn't get right away hoping for an easy one, but no joy. Then, it didn't even record. Some message like "server taking longer than normal to respond." #chesspunks

Been hearing about #chesspunks on Perpetual Chess and @drscull.bsky.social's Chess Journeys, but didn't participate as I'd left twitter a while ago. Glad to see them showing up on blue sky!
