☀️This morning @governor.ny.gov signed a critical piece of legislation for NY’s solar industry that makes it clearer for developers to know the costs of renewable energy projects after Trump axed vital tax credits.

⚠️: Even with further action, New York is already behind schedule on reducing emissions and protecting our communities. The State Energy Planning Board now says our 2030 emissions goal won’t be reached until 2038. At a time of federal rollbacks, now is not the time for retreat.

This year the Legislature passed the All-Electric Buildings Act, which requires most new buildings to have only electric appliances. Now @governor.ny.gov’s administration is delaying implementation. At a time of climate protection rollbacks in DC, we need Albany leaders to keep moving NY forward.

Several environmental groups have sued the @decision.ny.gov for approving the NESE pipeline. The project poses significant threats to water quality, & construction will release dangerous toxins and heavy metals into NY harbor. NYSDEC has previously denied the project 3 times based on these facts.

@governor.ny.gov has announced 2 grants to help combat climate change and protect New Yorkers’ clean water! Federal rollbacks and budget cuts are harming our water protection efforts, and these dollars will help fill the gap.

Menstrual products are used by millions of New Yorkers, but many contain toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” that pose serious health risks. The Legislature unanimously passed a ban on PFAS in these products and now we’re urging @governor.ny.gov to sign this legislation into law.
