Very concerning stats. We have roads at 40mph through residential urban and developing areas that urgently need dropping to a max of 30mph; we need a 20mph by default policy for residential roads and around schools where School Streets schemes are not viable. @warwickshirecc.bsky.social
Killed and seriously injured on Warwickshire Roads are going up. The target is useless without action.
Warwickshire County Council are refusing to look at speed limits in urban area on routes to schools.

On a positive note, there is one seat bucking the trend! The Green Party has comfortably won Weddington with @greennuneaton.bsky.social returning to the County Council (Congrats!)

This at least means we have a progressive local voice pushing for environmental and active travel considerations etc.

It’s not just that it’s morally indefensible for Labour to cut more disability support than Tories ever dreamed of.

It’s that we have been living in the fallout from the last round of austerity & they have learnt absolutely NOTHING. Making the poor poorer COSTS US MORE #r4today

It has been over 9 years since Warwickshire county council officers met to discuss bus stops for new developments on Weddington Road. It has been a farce and now we have muddy bus stops without paving, bus shelter without bus stop. Can we have it sorted soon?

Yet again we have zero Nuneaton and Bedworth representatives speaking out at today’s @warwickshire_cc
cabinet meeting. Really noticeable when they discussed the next round of EV charging points and pushed for them going into rural areas.

Andrew Boswell is a principled campaigner who has put together a series of meticulous legal cases on the terrible future impact of the UK’s addiction to road building. No wonder Starmer is running scared, but this kind of smear is a) pathetic and b) straight out the BoJo/Priti Patel handbook 🤮
Keir Starmer wrote in the Daily Mail attacking a Green campaigner.

He replied: "I don’t virtue signal. I’m doing this for my grandchildren. Starmer is virtue signalling to the Daily Mail and the fossil fuel lobby.”

Starmer is so awful at all of this.
