The world is my home, Nature is my guide, let’s hope we can all work together to keep each other safe and well, while ensuring the health and vitality of the natural systems that support us.
These images are from an old rose bush in the garden where I work, it was very overgrown and not thriving, it was cut back quite hard and I was worried we might lose it, but it has absolutely thrived since and seems to have a new lease on life. Against the bright blue spring sky, it’s gorgeous

Went for walk in one of my favourite local #ConservationParks - Mt Billy, here in the Fleurieu Peninsula, spring is local orchid season and I was very happy to see these “Donkey Orchids” #Nature #Flowers #NaturePhotography #Orchids

Drove past this large bush ‘decorated’ with green plastic dog poo bags, supplied by local council (government) this house is directly opposite the ocean /beach and obviously the strong winds blew them out of the dispenser and the bush ‘caught’ them. #coastal #wind I had a quick giggle 🤭

This is SO scary, goodness, people being quietly creative! Crikey! Gotta put a stop to such behaviour - it may inspire other acts of creative kindness. 😉

Had some visitors - a flock of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos, the other day, they are sitting in one of their favourite trees - a Drooping Sheoak - Allocasuarina verticillata, these birds are large and prefer the seeds of Banksias and Sheoaks, but will make use of Pine nuts when necessary #birds

Was delightfully surprised today when I walked past my potted #Iris (Dutch Iris) to see that the first #flower for this season has opened up. You gotta love this “Deep Purple” variety… #nature #gardening #flowers

My favourite local bird - the tiny male Superb Blue Wren, this male is displaying full breeding ‘blue’ plumage, these birds are such a delight, they are so tiny, but very ‘busy’ and constantly chatting… #birds #nature #wildlife

This is a frog that lives at my home, he often appears out in the open late at night whenever I water my potted plants I hear him calling, he seems to respond to the presence of water, my area has very low rainfall (approx 400mm/year) and is almost pure sand - so to have a frog here is special

#Nature is a powerful force on this planet, gardening is a positive way to interact with it, if you care about plants and their allies (insects, birds and other animals) and look after them, you are rewarded with simple beauty and a sense of calmness and acceptance of what is and what can be.

Autumn Sunset at my local beach #sunsets #nature #NaturePhotography #Beach

My sunset visit to my local beach this evening, and it was - beautiful. We are in a drought situation here at the moment, had a few drops of rain this morning but skies cleared (unfortunately) and rain didn’t eventuate, but then there was this beautiful sunset. #sunsets #oceans #naturephotography

Leaving home the other day, came across this large male Western Grey kangaroo, things are very dry here at the moment and wildlife is desperate for grazing options - #wildlife #nature #NaturePhotography

Leaving home yesterday and came across this Grey Kangaroo having a morning snack on the side of my local road, things have been extremely dry, experiencing serious drought here in South Australia and local wildlife struggling to find enough food… all grass is dead or dying, we need rain soon
