ime the difference between using ~2000's-era forums versus twitter/bsky/discord is stark, re: what it does to how you think and write.

maybe you develop poorer reading and communication skills over time, but it's because of prolonged immersion in media that incentivizes it, not because you never learned it in grade school or whatever.
