My small family established a weekly meeting a few years ago, which we have at the same time every week. The most important part of this meeting is to review the calendar for the coming week(s) and make sure our schedules are aligned. Implementing this system has been a game changer for us.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
