I _did_ buy it back when it was new-ish.

Yeah. Just for the cover. Honest. Nothing to do with any websites that are no longer with us or merged into Recon or anything like that.

Aw man... remember "This program posts news to thousands of machines throughout the entire civilized world. Your message will cost the net hundreds if not thousands of dollars to send everywhere. Please be sure you know what you are doing"?

I didn't then and I don't now but I did anyways.

LPs are fun... and a 1970s record changer with a stack of 45s is even more fun if you love watching machinery turn movement into music.

(Also I'm pretty sure the "loudness wars" would cause the needle to skip on a record, so you have to do better at getting the primary mix and eq right.)

If you have a tumble dryer with an "air only" (no heat) cycle I found that would help.

But nothing would work as well as a good warm-up and randori. You may be on gi burn apology duty for a few days though...

Don't forget there's JSON char limits in IAM policies, which are different for roles, users, and custom policies. So you get to either say "just pwn me now and get over with it" or balance inline and custom policy document counts. While working out the shortest way of getting sufficient effect.

Oh I'm so glad that's happening! I had so much fun going to the Bloor in general and the Rocky Horror Picture Show in particular when I used to live in Toronto.

It was all fun and games until those Linux people actually read some of the code in rlogind.... I remember someone "disappearing" from the IBM employee directory after complaining on USENET customers were making him work late on the hotfix.

I kind of feel the people "upset" at queues in pubs are the ones who were favoured by the prior system. While I do prefer the sort of pub where the barstaff and the punters cooperate... that does very much depend on punters and barstaff. A queue Just Works even selfish patrons and overworked staff.

Just wait until they realise how many Trans Sisters make his mobile phone work!

On the GBBF, I agree with the NEC quote. I'm certain that only some destination travellers made the effort. I went on the Thursday and there was no "after work" crowd like Olympia got. It's by the airport. Airports are terrible places, there's nothing else to do except the one thing you went for.

A great site, absolutely worthy of the Ronseal of Approval.

And thanks also to @mythic-beasts.com for hosting it! I'm a happy customer of their DNS and domain services.

Or diverting all traffic from a datacentre... when you meant to do 10%.

Fortunately when I did that I was visiting our support team so I could give them a heads up even faster than I could make a mistake.

Basically if your day shows up in Tech Crunch you probably had a bad day.

Even if the Big Companies pay prevailing market rates, greater demand against generating/transmission capacity will drive prices up in that market. Even without deals, people with deeper pockets can just buy everything and force everyone else out. So make sure you keep that regulation going too.

That's amazing, thanks for putting it together! I think your rotoscoping is just right. Brings back memories of watching and... participating... in the Bloor Cinema in the '90s and '00s.

Ooof. Pipeline....

In the 90s my manager asked how someone else could learn what I know. I said, "Get an 8-bit micro when you're 11, move on to QNX machines at school when you're 14, get a 32-bit machine with your paper route money at 16..."

That would apparently take too long. And need a TARDIS.
