I am on a quest to see all the salmon and trout species around the world. I am also interested in the connection between salmon and culture. I travel, I discover, and I film.

In 2010 I traveled to learn and document different salmonid species and the people connected to them. I wrote some essays about my experiences. It can be accessed on Researchgate #salmon #culture #bioculture www.researchgate.net/publication/...

As is the case with many islands, the Hawaiian islands have been severely impacted by invasive species, including fishes.

Many canals are swarming with tilapia, like this redbreast tilapia I caught on Kauai.

My review of The Dawn Patrol Diaries by James Card, in this month’s Fly Fisherman magazine.

Great book about fly fishing in Korea, an unexpected destination for lovers of small streams & native fishes. Well worth checking out, as is the magazine.

Why is it that Republicans run on "no war" but endes up being the ones that gets us involved with them? More US soldiers died because of Republican than because of Democrats (not considering that Dems inherit the wars). #GOP #Parade #Armyparade #Trump #war thehill.com/policy/defen...

I believe the best way to protest against the megalomaniac is to stay away from DC and Constitution Ave on June 14. Let #Trump watch tanks rumble down empty streets alone. #June14 #MilitaryParade #DC #Resist

On June 14, may no civil man or woman be in DC to watch the military parade. Let the tanks rumble down empty streets of DC and soldiers march to no applause. #Trump #DC #militaryparade #Resistance

This Memorial Day, as with all memorial days, I think of the idiocy and uselessness of wars. The suffering, the hurt, the trauma, and the devastation that comes with the wars we participated in. And I cry, because I know we will never stop, it is part of human nature to revere war.

Even in Canada
Doug Ford says only “radical environmentalists” oppose Bill 5. But wanting science-based protections for endangered species isn’t radical. Ford's labelling misidentifies genuine concerns to skirt accountability. I voted no on Bill 5 and will continue to unless key amendments are made.
