These are ordered by most views, not necessarily by how much you all love the course. There is 1 course that is closed, and 1 from out of state, the rest all are in Michigan.

I got to walk around the site back in August, and played it maybe 10 years ago. It was unique but never great. They say they want to reopen someday, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

While it has the distinction of probably being the best of 3 munis in town, it reportedly lives in the zone of not being bad enough to hate or good enough to love.

Bills itself as the “premier destination” in the region. I’ve played it a lot and like some of it, but too many McMansions on the front, and too much marsh hopping on the back.

A pair of excellent Golden Age architects are part of this club’s early history, along with a master plan by a modern name in MI golf. Last time I looked at the elevation data, though, I was struck by how uninteresting the greens were. I hope that isn’t the full picture

I don’t know what this places looks like from the ground, I’m sure it’s fine. But every image I find from above makes it look incredibly swampy.

Is that a dogleg par 3 I see in the upper right?!
Despite the odd design, the land here looks like it never stops moving. I’d stop by to take a look if I was in the area.

We talked a little bit about this resort earlier in the summer, and some of you had some decent things to say about this particular course in the rotation. Sounds like it was a smart addition back in 2021.

Per this course’s very active Facebook page, it looks like there is a pretty good and fun vibe to the place. But for some reason it keeps putting Hank Williams Jr in my head.

In a week of meandering routings, this one at least is a little more compact than the last two. I also know from past features that most of you really like this course.

The website says there is new ownership here as of 2022, and they have been working to improve the course. It doesn’t look much different from yesterday’s feature though - like the home developers got first dibs on the land and golf came second.

One of those 90s-built courses that was a big deal when it opened, or at least that’s how it goes in my childhood memory. And now it promotes weddings and banquets more heavily than it does the golf course.

A great location and a little bit of land movement has me thinking there might be a lot of potential here.

Much like a recent feature, we’ve also got the 3-hole practice loop here, for a total of 30 holes. Most of it looks decent, but what’s going on with that hole in the upper right?

There are about as many unconventional things going on here as you can fit on one roughly 40 acre property. For one, a badly sliced driver from the range could cross state lines.

The course dates back to 1922, not bad for a 9-hole muni. I think it might occasionally get some water from the nearby river, but otherwise it doesn’t look like a bad park.

This place is way way up there on the list of national destinations that I am enamored with. Visually it’s great, of course, but it’s the subtle and challenging angles that I think is what does it the most for me.

Of the No Longer Existing Courses I’ve featured over the years, I think this one may have had the shortest life span, yet is one of the more dearly missed tracks in the state.

The tight trees and constant marsh hopping have me wondering what I would be willing to pay to see this course for the first time. I can tell you for sure that it won’t be the $150 peak rate that they are asking for.

You will not be surprised, given the sheer amount of holes to work with, that the phrases “Scottish-links style” and “up-north” both appear on the website. For one, I doubt there are many 45-hole facilities in Scotland.
