The water doesn't exist. But the aspirations and visions persist. Read this import work from Mr. Temple. Decide for yourself.
12 data centers have requested 6 gigawatts of new electricity generation in Nevada, which would amount to a 40% expansion of the state's power sector.

We found the projects could also consume billions of gallons of water in the nation's driest state.

The data center boom in the desert
The AI race is transforming northwestern Nevada into one of the world's largest data-center markets—and sparking fears of water strains in the nation’s driest state.

Today, lawmakers in Nevada are going to vote on a resolution that supports public land sales and more sprawl in Vegas.

AJR10 has had no hearings and no meaningful debate.

Why would Dems w/ deep ties to the real estate industry want to deprive the public?

What's happening with water conservation in the Nevada Legislature. Ohhh and what about the ongoing lawsuits over Coyote Springs, a plan to invite tens of thousands of people to live off scare groundwater in the desert north of Vegas? There's some of that too.

Democrats and Republicans love the idea of selling off public lands in Nevada. This is not a partisan issue. Just look at what the congressional delegation has done to Vegas since the late 1990s. If Ds in the Legislature could oblige the governor they would. But the folks DC take care of it.
