Assess every aged drink on its individual merits. The turn of the century bottles of JW Lees Harvest Ale I have are the strongest, gloopiest of delights, if just not night before work ones. The similar vintage bottle of Warninks we found in my parents' drinks cupboard, not so much.

It might not have aged as well, but I continue to like Do You Know (What It Takes) that bit more.

True. Could do with the rain not wrecking any more games in the meantime!

Absolutely :-) . As if I wasn't envying this trip enough already!

(Apart from the flight chaos, that is. Wouldn't wish that on me, you or anyone).

'Twould be if I ever saw them. However, my winner is Captain Sensible's short-lived Space Toad Experience. We'd only gone to see the great lost Oldham quartet Wonky Alice. The Captain just happened to be headlining. Aimless prog noodling done badly, lots of badmouthing Vanian in absentia. Grim.

Disappointed from a nominative determinism perspective that Mr Elms wasn't the tree surgeon.

As mentioned during my recent trawl through a few German pop faves over on Facebook. Starring both a bona fide Neue Deutsche Welle pin-up and a future Eurovision host, no less.

My apologies - I missed this reply. Goodness, that's a lot of loss to have to process in so little time. Pat was there at the start of my journey into librarianship in Oldham over 30 years ago, and was a kind and inspiring leader. I'm desperately sad to learn of her passing.
