All that said, playtesting is such an intimidating and awkward process as a creative.

You're handing this thing over that makes sense to YOU to other people and hoping they find it as interesting and understandable as you do.

Just really grateful to the folks who took the time to test this game!

In a related note, one of the play testers has been streaming his exploration of Waywright on Twitch, which is so cool! I keep getting too antsy to sit and watch, but planning to dig in to finalize this playtest.

Give it a watch!

The overall reaction from players was positive, which is great!

I have some areas to revisit and smooth out as I work to get the actual book completed, but there's an experience there that players have really resonated with.

4. Objective-driven play was a big win cited by a lot of players. Having something established at the start of your #Minecraft world to pursue made exploration a lot more focused and satisfying.

3. Some players felt blocked by needing to do it "the right way" which made it take longer to ramp up to enjoying the experience.

Fix will be some of the re-massaging of the game into the layout, which should make the approach easier. The game includes a "quick start" now, which should also help

2. Players using their computer to record their Expedition Log felt it was clunky to tab back and forth between Minecraft and the application they were using.

Fix is, in theory, something like a #Minecraft mod or data pack, but still working out the path forward there

1. The book was just too freakin' LONG. In my drive to make this thing read like a handbook from this pseudo-mystical creative organization (the Etherscouts), I ended up making it hard to actually get through.

Fix was an initial condensation (edited out ~30 pages) and to use layout to refine more

This game is only 19 sales away from hitting Mithril Bestseller on @drivethrurpg.com, which currently would mean it's pretty close to being in the top 1,000 (or top 0.53%) of all published #TTRPG titles on the marketplace.

I had a feeling MagicaVoxel would be suggested, I have it downloaded but just haven’t spent much time with it yet. I’ll take a look, thanks!
