Gen X Engineer in aerospace and technology development. Remembers what it was like when boredom was the default and distraction took effort.
Just watched it again last night. I had forgotten most of the movie, or I was so young I was bored enough to not pay attention. Really surprised that the rich old guys would expose their entire net value in a single day of trading.

Wanted to see just how far down the thread I had to scroll before someone said the name of the movie. Thank you. And I was born in '76 and have seen the movie, just couldn't remember the name.

Thank you for the article. Also a Bicentennial baby like the author, was nice to read such an essay on the (pop) culture I grew up in.

He's not getting it, he needs to stop procrastinating and just release them already. We are waiting...

When there was only one vomit hose track in the sand, that was when Jesus carried you while you worked the vomit hose.

It's in the vomit hose technician's handbook. The assistant vomit hose technician must symbolically support the primary vomit hose technician.

I just watched this movie last night and I hadn't seen it since it came out 15 years ago. And so I knew you were talking about the cool masks they had to rob banks. And now I see your low engagement post. How does that work.

That person with a thousand fishes worked really hard to inherit all those fishes from their father.

I'm starting to think he actually did all these things and it's not a hoax

I wonder how much it will cost to get married at the white house ballroom?
November 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I'm genX. I'm not in congress though. Did the Congress bug skip a generation? I believe we are 45 to 65 years old right now.

The east wing was the visitor tour entrance. It was made specifically for the public to enter the white house. Are they going to let the public enter through the ballroom? I never even got to see the white house. Should have went sooner.

Trump admin is still in honeymoon phase, but they are weak. They can afford zero defection. When those around feel him weaken politically and physically it will become chaos as the infighting begins.

Thank you for reporting on the dissent within the Republican party and particularly the House. I am hearing nothing in most news about it. People refer to the Democrats refusing to vote for the budget, but seem to not mention the many Republicans who are also unwilling to sign it.

Apparently this was just another norm that no one previously violated because no one was a big enough jackhole.
