Is there any way to stop people from following you on bluesky? I rarely comment and hardly ever post and I get 1-2 follow notifications a day. I have > 2X followers than people I follow. I know they are either bots or farming, because they don't stick around. I'd just rather not let them follow.

Maga: Why won't he just release the Epstein files?

Everyone else: Well, I mean, we know why...

M: No, it doesn't make sense, he said, why doesn't he?

E: We all know why, you know why, we all do.

M: I can't think of any possible reason.

E:..

M: I can't. I just can't. I can't.

E: We know.

Leavitt without a trace of irony: "When you have a totalitarian regime, you have to save face. I think any common sense, open-minded person knows the truth about the precision strikes on Saturday night. They were wildly successful."

Smart people of the past would be so worried about us right now.
Some folks are pretty good seeing things coming.

As a civilization, the era of, "oh look, fire in the sky, let's sacrifice someone on an altar" is really not as far in the past as we think. Conspiracy theories and pseudo science therapies are billion dollar industries.

@bsky.app please make users sharing real-time information be the service you are selling and have a subscription that enhances the features of that service. The users benefit the most. Please DO NOT make the delivery of Ads on behalf of companies the service you sell.

This feels like real progress in how to deal with the right wing media empire.
“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

All this talk of people leaving Twitter. Twitter doesn't exist anymore. The name was changed, verification turned into a subscription, blocking dropped, content moderation non-existant, rampant algorithm manipulation. People aren't leaving Twitter. Twitter left the people.

It's really nice to scroll a feed and feel like you are witnessing the present rather than every post being 17 hours ago. That's what newspapers are for Threads.

This Is the Best Way to Find People to Follow on Bluesky
Bluesky might be the new Twitter, but without an algorithm, it can be hard to find people to follow there. That's where Bluesky Directory, a searchable database of more than 45,000 starter packs, can ...

I think we are understanding the role of social networks in politics now.
As the left flees and X loses broader relevance, it becomes a more overtly right-wing site, @alibreland.bsky.social writes. But the right needs liberals on X in order to push conservative perspectives into the mainstream.
The Right Has a Bluesky Problem
The X exodus is weakening a way for conservatives to speak to the masses.
