The need for protest to be civil, legal, or peaceful is an imposition from the oppressor onto the protestors. Change comes when those in power do not feel safe with the status quo.

100% this, some of my closest friends are leftists who are currently enlisted or veterans. “Veterans are not a MAGA monolith” is something the left really needs to have drilled in
imo the left really needs to put a lot more effort into organizing veterans, especially now. they aren’t a political monolith, and a lot of them are getting screwed over right now.
