favorite games I played this year. there's a lot of bangers so it's hard to choose, but I think it comes down to these. honorable mentions to smtvv, silent hill 1, and parasite eve. (p.s. I'll get on nier in 2025 I promise)

finished brothership. despite the very slow beginning, I genuinely loved this game. while there's a lot I could critique, the amount of fun and charm on display here outweighs most of it for me. the battle system, story, and characters are all winners. mario rpgs are back.
