I cancelled our Disney+ subscription, but we have it for a while longer. I was pleasantly surprised to see this when I launched it tonight. Oh, hello Tim. 😁 (forgot picture before 🙄

The state/region section covered the #NoKings protests, but the story missed the key point that the number of meaningful turnout events across not just major cities, but at the neighborhood level as well happened across the nation.

Today’s front page is why I just canceled my subscription to the @startribune.bsky.social

I drove past a quarter mile of 3 deep protesters along both sides of a road in my own neighborhood to get to one of the biggest rallies in Minneapols in recent years. Here is the Sunday paper:

Minneapolis really turned out a crowd. Hard to judge numbers within the crowd but the march itself wrapped around the entire route after the rally.

Couldn’t post from the rally in Minneapolis earlier, so here is a fun thread of signs!

Went looking for @johnfugelsang.bsky.social's new book and this was the second result on Amazon. I'm sure every page of it as written by an honest to god person and not an AI at all. It feels particularly scammy though, like one of those fake abortion counseling clinics run by churches.

[Frontline narrator voice] In fact, there was no added value to the customer. In fact, customers regularly asked for the AI tools to be deactivated or removed altogether. Google removed these options in the summer of 2025.

WetLeg at First Ave. in Minneapolis tonight was incredible. What an insanely good show. Rhian Teasdale is destined to be rock royalty, she had that crowd wrapped around her finger. Definitely a top 10 post-pandemic show.

Was behind this odd box truck with windows on the sides and back doors at MSP terminal 1 departures this morning. It had two bench seats and 6-8 guys in t-shirts, sunglasses, baseball hats (not matching) carrying backpacks sitting in the back. It had US Govt plates. It felt out of place.

You got in the "virtual queue" 1/2 hour before tickets go on sale for a band you really want to see, and as the sale starts, this happens.
Do you wait to see if it reconnects, or reload the page and possibly lose your place in line?
What do you do?

Meanwhile, how's the internet of things coming along?

Google is no longer "supporting" the original Nest thermostat so certain features of the "first learning thermostat" will no longer work. This generation was made by Nest prior to Google acquiring it.

Short answer: It's going badly.
