I think the streaming shows have done some interesting things even if they take place in the past. I think stuff like Mandalorian and Andor are conditioning people into seeing the greater storytelling potential of the series.

I agree. It’s the right amount of silly. I wish I could get my kid to watch some Showa era. Going to try Godzilla vs Biolante over the holidays. I think he might like the Hesei stuff.

JJ Abrams cowrote Force Awakens (after he threw out Michael Arendts scriptment for the sequel trilogy) and Rise of Skywalker and he knew what Rian Johnson was going to do for in Last Jedi.

I think either way waiting three years between movies would have helped. The original trilogy wasn’t well planned but the prequels were and they were pretty boring.
