New Hampshire (7 PM ET) Coös County, 5th State House District The town of Berlin in New Hampshire’s northernmost county will host a special election for a very swingy Republican-held seat in the state House. Former Democratic state Rep. Corinne Cascadden will face off against Republican Marc Tremblay, Berlin’s police commissioner. The district voted for Biden by a 53-46 margin but went for Trump 52-48 last year. The GOP holds a 218-177 advantage in the unusually volatile chamber, but Democrats will be looking to take it back next year. New York (9 PM ET) 115th State Assembly District Democrat Michael Cashman, who is the town supervisor in Plattsburgh, will square off against Republican Brent Davison, a retired New York State Police major, in a closely divided state Assembly district along the Canadian border. Republicans didn’t contest the race last year, even though Trump carried the district 50-49, four years after Biden racked up a 52-46 margin. Democrats, who hold a 102-47 supermajority in the chamber, won’t see that change no matter how this special election unfolds.
