When a developer applied for a permit to dam Big Canyon, on Navajo Nation land, the Navajo Nation said no. Now the secretary of energy is proposing a new rule that would prevent tribes from putting an early stop to hydropower projects on their own lands: www.grandcanyontrust.org/blog/new-dam...

8-12 trucks like this one are leaving Pinyon Plain uranium mine (aka Canyon Mine) south of Grand Canyon National Park daily, hauling uranium ore to the Energy Fuels uranium mill near Bears Ears National Monument in southeastern Utah, more than 300 miles away. Local residents report speeding.
