Half sask half toba here too. Good point on Xmas dinner, Tgiving dinner. But always a birthday supper and often Easter supper too.

Always been a “lunch” and “supper” person myself. Never knew whether “dinner” meant noon or evening. (Although I often observe that evening “dinner” people eat earlier at like 5-6, whereas “supper” people eat definitely after 6.)

Every Bond needs a Felix

Agreed there is fertile ground in a book-era period Bond film/ film series. There’s also so much more — really, anyone who thinks that Bond’s death is a real roadblock might actually be disingenuous and trying simply to stir up interest?

Anyway, I know I’m late to the Bond discourse, but I do love the series.

Plot could be control of the Northwest Passage. Put Bond on melting, dirty sea ice amidst climate change. To escape, he sees a pristine white ‘iceberg’ that’s actually a refuge — filled with 1960s tech, a leftover from glory-era Bond, camouflaged for a permanently frozen Arctic that no longer exists

Personally, I think post-Brexit Bond could be a wonderful illustration of our faded world. Plenty of real-life oligarchs to inspire fictional foils. Make him choose between crap government tech or off-the-shelf stuff that’s better but jammed with ads, subscription pop-ups, backdoors, etc.

Bond in the WW1 trenches. Bond doing rearguard raids for the redcoats in 1776. Bond under Oliver Cromwell. Bond vs. Ghandi and make Bond the villain. What would Bond be up during the French Revolution? Send Bond on Scott’s Antarctic expedition and kill him again.

Just preaching my message of "wanting to do less more often" we all have our reasons.
