I've just read this strange, fascinating novel: "A Voice Like Velvet" by Donald Henderson. First published in 1944 as "The Announcer", it's about a BBC announcer who is also a jewel thief. Ideal if you're interested in radio, the BBC & wartime Britain - and for listeners to @bbcentury.bsky.social
