Be kind. Laugh often. Stay curious. Everything changes. Everyone has a story. Question everything. You'll manage.
"Well," Mavis declared, "Now is the time for all of us hardworking & compassionate people to rise up & remind those of great wealth and greed that we are here and we are not going away. We demand that the rich stop stepping on us in order to gain more money. We have had enough! Greed will not win!"

The young woman tugged on her jacket as she called out to the crowd, "Yes, we can! We can change the world as it is now. What it takes is for enough people to decide that living for only themselves is not satisfying. What it takes is for people to say NO! to greed and disrespect. Are you with me?"

Mavis & Spike looked w/ amazement at the many ordinary people who knew that a greedy & selfish life was no way to live. Mavis turned on her big voice & began chanting: "No kings, no oligarchs, no idiots! No kings, no oligarchs, no idiots!" An even louder voice called out, "We can change the world."

I did see your response with Joan and Judas early this morning and was just letting it simmer. But I like this one better! Don't replace! Love that we can just switch things around. Of course, half of the time I really don't know I am going or, even, where I have been in the story!

Yeah, I think that's why the sentence appeals. I like the way she framed that idea - as a menu. But do we really get to choose from the menu? I wish!

Today is the first I've heard of this one but someone about also cited a line about "the menu of bad mothers is an endless and varied one" and that made me request from the library. It sounds intriguing.

I have to admit that I was the weird kid who liked sentence diagramming!

I've been wondering about that one....

The thing is, that shredding, distorted guitar sound make Spike perk up. He looked about and saw a small crowd beginning to gather around Blue. There were old folks and young folks, folks of all colors, and all of them seemed to want to belt the song out loud right along with John.

Spike eyed Blue skeptically. "I don't really know about that, Blue. I don't think you need to fix it. Mavis KNOWS we need a revolution. Having the Beatles announce that once again? That's exactly what Mavis would want. Make it louder, in fact."

Blue slid the panel open and turned up the volume.

Mavis literally shieked, "Are you kidding, Spike? It HAS to be a revolution. They are completing disregarding the rights and needs of so many citizens. They are greedy SOB's and this has to stop. Near as I can tell, this is the time for revolution. There is no stopping and I get what I want."

I know what you mean.

"NO WAY!", Mavis yelled. "Are you kidding me? The way that money is running this country, the way that the filthy rich are literally wiping out the poor? Greedy billionaires? They deserve to be reckoned with. Does the name Marie Antoinette mean anything to you? She got what she deserved."
