Never been a double bagel in a Wimbledon final before. There was one in the French Open final in 1988 when Steffi Graf blitzed Natasha Zvereva in 34 minutes.

Let's hope we don't get one today.

Objectively, that daylight call was insane. Subjectively, wimbledon being the chaotic slam is hilarious to me

Sorry but it’s ridiculous to stop this match. Curfew is 11 pm, there was time to wrap this up.

Trump hailed FDR immediately after he claimed that tariffs would have stopped the Great Depression.

Here's what FDR thought about tariffs:

"Our tariff policy has made us, instead of a nation trying to sell surplus goods, a nation trying to keep goods out. That is a policy of economic stupidity."

I celebrate the 80% of Germans who did not vote for the far right. Do not make 19.6% of German voters into "the" German people (again).

"The" German people don't exist! The German population is diverse and divided, but voted overwhelmingly for liberal democratic parties.

I do not think Robinson is an AFD supporter; I just think this reflects a dismal assumption that the purpose of the interviewer is to ask an edgy question as if from the political antagonists. And also not to think before talking. Was Britain "not a democracy" for the whole non-coalition period??

This thread from earlier today is literally just me offloading after 16 years of helping to run an actual early years setting. It's so frustrating that politicians don't listen so please excuse me the rant. 😉
I wanted to do a thread to explain why the DfE making consumables charges voluntary, as per this new guidance, is going to be so problematic for the early years sector. It has the potential to make settings unsustainable especially in areas of high disadvantage. 🧵⬇️
