mario & luigi brothership has been weird; soulless in parts, soulful in others. we've known miyamoto's hated anything unique, but ever since nintendo made that branding change for mario some time ago (2019?) they've kind of neutered the creativity around mario games. this was funny and unexpected.

there are 99 seconds in a round. if we each take one round with each round ending around the 90 second mark, that is around 4 whole minutes of possible back and forth gameplay. you can wait a few extra seconds in the first round of the first game before sending a system mechanic.

went to gamestop to secure my physical copy of mario and luigi brothership. there's a different feeling to this as an adult, but it's good in its own way
