here are the costs associated with the Oracle database, in case anyone doesn't know. the costs can go up further depending on other options 😅 this is why you need to stick with opensource databases such as pgsql 🥰 the amount of freedom FLOSS brings to individuals & small businesses is unmeasurable

We just discovered github.com/cloudwego/go... today.

What a great memory debugging tool for Go! Very cool.

I've never installed TikTok, but I'd install _this_ again. (both from ByteDance)

I missed Intel announcing that they went too far with their cost cuts when they eliminated free coffee and tea.

Given 15,000 layoffs, stock down -50% for the year and the fact the board just fired the CEO, the employees need a morale boost. ☕️

One thing not frequently talked about with remote work:
It's harder for managers to run remote teams.

Sabin Roman (first EM at Linear, a remote-first company) says:

"I really wish more managers would be open to working remotely."

The normalization of laying off people to boost stock price, seeing it in real time, continues to radicalize me. And I suppose I'm pretty radical already.

Anyway, sounds like my NAS is going to be an Alpine rootfs compressed as a giant initramfs.

github.com/alpinelinux/... is 90% of the way there. Just needs an init and a kernel.

Kinda surprised no one made this into a thing yet. You can even make it do A/B boot with just, like, GRUB.
