This made me curious, so I looked up the etymology and tried to find any other English word that shares the same root. Maybe people can’t be gormful, but they can do gaum!

My favorite one of these is the comic book origin of the Avengers’ name. The Wasp suggested “something colorful and dramatic, like… The Avengers, or…”

And everyone present thought the Wasp’s first idea was awesome. The name had no special meaning beside that. 😄
