Look, I don’t know about your history, and I guess this was a civil, not government process.
But in order to keep a TS/SCI clearance level you have to clear Poly initially, and then every 3-5 years as part of the re-investigation process.

A Polygraphs is not pass/fail test!
A person is not cleared for approval if the examiner finds deception or is unable to reach a conclusion about the veracity of the answers given.
So, when you say you “falsely fail” you’re intentionally deceptive!

If, for about 25 yrs, you’re paying just on the interest, you’re basically renting for 25 yrs.
But, contrary to renting, you have property tax, HOA, maintenance, etc.
You know, all the costs associated with home ownership, but without actually owning your home.
