Yeah. When I lived south of the 401 in Thorncliffe, I would commute to Dufferin and Steeles and would go up Banbury across Fifeshire and then cross the 401 at Yonge using the pedestrian way. Not ideal but works well. I still use it when I go south.

The Kobo interface to Libby is nice but maddening as it doesn’t tell you that if a book is on Overdrive but not Kobo it won’t automatically download. You have to download to your PC first. Now I have libby, kobo and Instapaper on a dedicated iPad with no browser to distract myself with.

I had the same pile. Then I unplugged from Amazon and though I intended to remove their DRM I screwed up and lost them all. So far I have not felt any desire to read any of them in the past year or so. Mostly now I use kobo for purchasing but libby is my primary go to for reading.

I want to see those small gaps closed but oh boy what a difference a proper 400 crossing has made. Too bad it’s like we traded the east end 401 crossing for it.

Here it is snow. About a month early!

Oh wow - the best fish I ever had was in India - and in many different places. The best was a place my son and I stayed in just south of Ganpatipule. People would drive all the way down from Pune just for dinner.

That's *always* the highlight. That all looks *so* good. We went out for Gujarati thalis last night, though so I didn't miss it quite as much.

So I think operating from that assumption, the answer might well be to make that smaller area much more interesting from now until April. (4/4)

Same for me in the winter. It feels like the outdoors, especially when on a bike outside the city, is much more hostile so my world shrinks. I can't hop on my bike for a 100 km ride in January unless it's on Zwift. In summer I can get 100km in outdoors before lunch if I really want to. (3/4)

So in the summer you felt like your whole world shrank to your tiny house and yard. I definitely remember this. Don't stray far from the path, sit in the creek to keep cool, and otherwise read and relax. (2/4)

Happy Birthday! And what a performance!

It’s crazy. This was on the door of my dentist on Tuesday. I can’t believe we are at this point when it was so avoidable.

Will definitely check out Mauril meanwhile...

No worries! It's been crazy busy all around, I think. Thanks for reminding me about Kim Thùy - I need to look for more of their writing (translated - the little French I understood at best has been displaced by Hindi and now I can't try to speak a sentence of French without a Hindi word sneaking in)
