On this day 1981, Arsenal beat Norwich 1-0 in the 3rd round of the League Cup. With just 18 goals in 20 games there was hope that the new recruit would have defences quivering in their boots...

On this day 1914, Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at White Hart Lane in the semi-final of the London FA Challenge Cup, reaching the final for the first time.
Both Arsenal goals came from corner kicks...

There was a proposed ring road around Crouch End but it never materialised. The plans also included Hornsey Town Hall being substantially larger than what was eventually built.

A win double for gooners last night. One in Prague and one in New York.

As defined by the Oxford English Dictionary: for all future time.
Therefore, North London for all future time.

Is there some sort of Dorian Gray thing going on at Arsenal where the first team can only keep winning as the youth team keep losing?

Et tu, Arsenal? 😢

FFS can't we get past the two weeks of wankers letting off fireworks every night before we have this rammed down our throats?

On this day 1978, Arsenal beat Hajduk Split 1-0 in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup thanks to a late goal from Willie Young who, sadly, passed away yesterday.
Split's right back would return to Highbury in 1997 and stay for 21 years.

In April 1971 Arsenal asked Burnley to postpone their league game due to Arsenal's fixture pile-up in their double-chasing fixture run-in.
The Clarets said "no".
Karma came along and bit them in the arse as a 1-0 defeat relegated them.

In February 1950, a crowd of 29,000 turned up at Highbury to watch Arsenal's reserves play Brighton's reserves. This was more than at Blackpool & Huddersfield in the 1st Division. Here's why.

I remember having a pair of monkey boots and my mum cursing every other day as she had to try and get the dog shit out of the tread in the soles.

Arsenal first played a league game at Craven Cottage 112 years ago. I hope we fare better tomorrow than back then when the Cottagers won 6-1. Arsenal losing Angus McKinnon early didn't help.
Programme here, and match report from the Islington Gazette.

🎶 You were working as a scorer in an Arsenal quiz, when I met you 🎶
It seems that me and Arsenal's newest director have history.
Hopefully this formative memory for young Ben will now be worth a Directors Box invitation or two.

41 years ago today I was at Filbert Street to see this absolute cracker of a game. Behind after a first minute own goal, a missed penalty, a superb team performance, loads of goals and a pitch invasion as Arsenal fans were pelted with bricks by Leicester fans from outside the stadium!
