Just a well-read guy who finds all the humblebragging on this platform silly. This may be better than that other platform, but it's miles from real life...
Sounds like a cowardly cop out. I've never seen you live or really heard anything other than your band name. A friend asked if I wanted to go, but I'm not giving my money to a state run propaganda outfit. I guess, in the end, it's about the $$$.

Nothing remotely funny about this situation.

Time Out of Mind and Rough and Rowdy Ways are arguably from the same period--even, potentially, bookends.

I know 23 years apart is a long time, but it's all part of the long career resurgence started in 1997.

These look like fake names. Two mentioned this morning in mainstream outlets aren't even on this list.

Probably doing focus groups or asking for permission to take a stance on something or arguing over how badly they want to fuck themselves while protecting a special interest group.

These last 2 wks are the complete repudiation of Obama's way of conducting business.

So you buy into that bullshit, too?

That's too bad.

It's not American politics, it's the absolute pathetic weakness of Democrats. I'm disgusted at how Presidents Obama and Biden pandered and begged and got next to nothing significant and lasting done. Republicans have always advanced their agendas.

Do you know how tariffs work? Ppl who do estimated tonight that the Trump tarrifs will cost the avg family $2600 per year. Schumer is trying to figure out how to tell people that Trump has scammed them (again), and he figures he'll try this way b/c whenever Trump does it, his cult mass-ejaculates.

Hilarious. People who think they are Dylan experts decide it's his last show and rush to buy tickets, and then it turns out it is not. Sounds about right.

Bit of a tight assed take, no?

Yes, and...

Why do my fellow progressives seem to only have empathy for special interest groups? Harris lost the election because working class people did not believe she or the Democrats really wanted to help them.

Read Matthew Karp's fantastic commentary in this month's Harpers.

I thought the Guthrie Center was much, much better. In the Dylan museum it was basically memorablia. In the Guthrie Museum, they contextualized his music within the time, as well as the subsequent impact on music. I saw a Black kid there giving a talk about the relationship between Guthrie and rap.

I do find it interesting. I've never been able to get all the way through a Lynch project, & I once watched a 13-hr Rivette film over two evenings.

I'm not disputing that he's a creative genius, but at some point you have to give the audience some footholds or you're just masturbating.

Slow Horses is excellent.

Diplomat is just fun to watch. It's also obvious, manipulative, and often pandering.

I liked it, but it's another streaming service algorithmic paint by numbers.

Mississippi, Outtake Version 1.

Easily.

Some ppl say it wasn't even Dylan who said "play it fucking loud."

Dylan "authorities" are often just writing about themselves. It's like that Eddie Marsan sketch where Dave points at the cover of Freewheelin and says "That is you, isn't it?" and Marsan says as older Dylan, "Yes, & it's you, too."
