This is all such a waste of time, which of course is Putin strategy. Trump and team are on the wrong side of the strategy to end the war. It will never end with this administration. Don't know if Ukraine can hold out for several more years until new admin but Ukraine cannot be conquered anyway.

Sounds like Lindsey would do Iraq all over again. Why isn't this the same strategy with Ukraine. We will spend billions and countless lives to cause regime change but no lives to force Putin to end way if we got behind Ukraine more

He is up worrying about his future and is clearly not content with his position right now. He is in a box in many areas and this is preventing restful sleep. Otherwise his age would not matter in regards to whether he can stay awake in meetings during the day. He is really troubled is the situation

Plus the entire chain of command is impacted. Hegseth becomes a lame duck or worse ignored by all military leadership. if Bradley thrown under the bus. Hostile countries watching this carefully and will use this chaos to their advantage.

I think you nailed it. MTG does not want to go down with the ship and be grouped with the losers. She has future aspirations and wants to create some distance from Trump's current version of Maga (it's not recognizable to campaign Maga). As you say there will be many others.

There are 3 parts to the strategy worked out in the late night war room meeting with Bondi etc (1) investigate Dems to prevent release, (2) flip to show support for release because he knows it can't happen, and (3) pardon Maxwell. These will occur but blatant coverup won't convince 2026 voters

Now we know what the late night meeting was all about- (1) launch an investigation to keep the file from being released and (2) pardon Maxwell to keep her quiet. Those are his only vulnerabilities.

Given this move by Trump/Bondi, it's almost guaranteed to pass both house and senate. Members will assume it's going nowhere so vote yes to protect their reputation. Public won't understand the nuance though and blocking the release will hurt him bad.

What does China get in return is the big thing we need to understand. I keep hearing that US is successful with soybean negotiations, successful with rare minerals negotiations, successful with fentanyl negotiations, successful with tic tok negotiations, etc. Sounds like China just rolled over.

The key questions should be what are the terms of the donations and can the public see the donation agreements to ensure there is no quid pro quo that impacts citizens
