L.A. County's first safe parking for homeless people living in RVs opens in Crenshaw
Los Angeles County has opened its first safe parking location for recreational vehicles. The pilot has spaces for 14 RVs that can stay for up to six months while their owners seek permanent housing.

I live in my car because I left a bad situation back in Vermont. For some reason I thought I'd rather go back to a bad situation than continue to live in my car. But I came to my senses. Sometimes living in a vehicle really is the best choice. #NVRC #vehicleresidency #vehicleresident

My friend is caring for her ailing mother in an assisted living facility. She noticed an electrical outlet that needed to be changed. Maintenance said it was fine. A couple of days later, she told them her boyfriend said it needed to be changed. They changed it right away. #inequality #mysogyny

#vehicleresidents face so many challenges. Many are listed here. We are not going away. All we ask is for our #humanrights to exist. #vehicleresidency is not the problem, and in fact is often the solution. We want governments to stop treating us like #secondclasscitizens.

What do you do when you’re living on the road and have a medical emergency? What if you need follow up care? Most insurance companies won’t pay for telehealth if you are in a different state. These are some problems the #NVRC works to address. #vehicleresident

In all the time I've been travelling the country, I have never taken the time to hit the tourist attractions, mostly because I couldn't afford it. Today, that changed. I even bought some souvenirs.

Here's something I've only seen in the desert. This is not the sun, it's the moon setting. It only seems to happen the morning after the full moon. #moonset #desertmorning.

The smoke from the wildfires got into my lungs and made me very sick. I knew this was why.

One of my favorite things about #vehicleresidency in the #Quartzsite, #Arizona is the amazing sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights, which you can see so much better because there is little surface light pollution.

I left my home state of #Vermont to go into the #arizonadesert for the winter. It's a warmer climate so I won't freeze to death in my #carhome. Many aren't as lucky as me, they can't leave for warmer areas. #vehicleresidency

My journey as a #vehicleresident. I spent last year traveling the country, living in my car. It was a choice I made, not one that was made for me. Not all vehicle residents consider themselves #homeless.
