Starting in Sekiro, FromSoftware added the feature of common ESD, but for older games like Dark Souls III, this is a really nice feature to have.

Yup, they are just json in a trench coat. The format contains a hash key, a list of arguments, a list of nodes, and a list of connections between nodes. Every state machine, whether its from the library or not has a hash key used for quick referencing.

There are also references made to "Library Machines" as denoted by a blue dot. These machines are not modded (.ezsm) files on your disk, but are instead state machines from the base game.

Ugh, that sounds awful. It sucks that you have to deal with these kinds of people.
