Lacking painting motivation at the moment - I blame Lego. I got a Lego Minecraft set for my birthday, and it was a lot of fun to build - so much so, I bought a couple more small sets, and plan to get at least one more. And Minecraft isn’t even a game I played much!

Played a couple of games of Kill Team during my holiday - this one was me using Vespids against dad running Krieg. A tough game, Vespid Communion points are frustrating, but it was a hard-fought draw in the end. I very much enjoy the new scoring, where Kill Ops, Tac Ops, and Crit Ops all matter.

@kurishicee.bsky.social gave me a great bronze statue recipe that I tried for the first time today and I love it! Bronze Green base, then drybrush your metallics of choice and finish with a targeted wash. I was going to slap on tons of verdigris but I love it like this

It’s awfully cruel that the Krieg comes out fully the same week the Black Library stuff goes up for preorder. Obviously, I want Krieg stuff, but I need the new Minka Lesk and the Malaneth minis.

As I rapidly approach 500 points of Death Guard finished (just bases left for this squad), I begin to wonder when I should allow myself to buy more minis for my other armies. Because I do really want some of those Krieg cavalry …

So, I’ll do a quick January roundup of all my painting progress. 20 minis completed - 7 Plague Marines, an Icon Bearer, Noxious Blightbringer, Plague Surgeon, and 10 Cultists. Currently, I’m working on a Foetid Bloat-Drone, with many more Death Guard waiting to be painted! #warhammer #nurgle

Almost certainly a bad idea, but I’m going to try something foolish - a 12-hour timed (pausing when needed) painting session. I’ve got 17 infantry (including 2 characters) and a flying machine. My painting station is set up. I’ll paint until my brain breaks, my timer ends, or the models are done.

So that’s the first 8 models of 2025 completed - a squad of Plague Marines led by a Plague Champion, accompanied by an Icon Bearer. Next up will be 10 Cultists and a Plague Surgeon - if the weather gets warm enough that I can prime them!

I ended up ordering and building a few more Animal Crossing Lego sets, because that first one was so fun. Got a lovely display all set up, but sadly I’ve run out of shelf space so I can’t get Isabelle’s House Visit. Unless I was to completely rearrange everything in the room again …

Got my first Lego Animal Crossing set … yeah, I think this is a range that I’ll be buying a lot of. It was a really lovely build. I might even order a bunch more of those base pieces to create a whole Animal Crossing island shelf display.

This is just my opinion, but Skeleton Crew is the best Star Wars I’ve seen in years. Better than Andor.

Wish I had some idea how much that new Krieg army box will be … it’s awful tempting. I do have a large infantry army of mixed Guard, adding some cavalry would be really cool.

Apple has opted iOS and MacOS users into an AI photo scanning feature which tries to extract landmarks from your photos called Enhanced Visual Search by default with little notice.
