This may have crystallized why I don’t like Roth. He is like an AI Tarantino for horror movies. A lot of the same passion but the underlying mechanics aren’t there. Proudly assertive but empty. Lacks a fundamental understanding of how stories impact human beings. Makes him come across as cynical.
