Weird vibes this week. Great 80's River Phoenix performance, a lesser Astaire with truly impressive Vera-Ellen dancing, Japanese Sun Tribe kitchen sink with a Daiso store Elvis, and Toshiro Mifune in an absolute masterpiece. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Celebrating the career and life of the wonderful June Lockhart--I loved her in Meet Me In St. Louis, She-Wolf of London, Petticoat Junction and Lost in Space. A Hollywood legend who celebrated her 100th birthday a few months ago. Rest in Peace, Our Queen of Space!

Finished reading this on the train ride home and definitely teared up at the end. I don't have anything to say about it that hasn't already been said a million times by people much smarter than me, but what a marvelous and endlessly entertaining work of fiction!

Post a remake you love

Some creepy entries for my #LastFourWatched - love how Criterion curates movies like Stuck (2007) that I likely never would have encountered on my own. Jack Pallance was great in Alone in the Dark. #LetterboxdFriday

So jazzed about this new release, a collection of four Dan Curtis-produced episodes of ABC's Wide World of Mystery. We watched an episode with George Maharis over the weekend. It was great!

I'm the same w/selfies but Shonen Knife was a bucket list band for me when I got to see them in '07. They were so gracious!

Horror, westerns, and the premiere of a superb Brazilian period piece, which we saw in a sold-out crowd last night to kick off the 2025 Latin-American Film Fest. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Still dying laughing at the following tidbit I read in a 1969 interview with John Cheever from The Paris Review

I've been using a lot of data on my phone (and I'm not connecting to the work wifi for obvious reasons) so I'm trying to go offline for music listening. This album still slaps.

Another #LastFourWatched, all bangers edition for #LetterboxdFriday! Weapons was a lot of fun, and me and my Gen Z colleague had a blast watching in a packed theatre last night. Still processing Cloud--which I think is better than its rating suggests.

This week's #LastFourWatched is full of bangers, all first-time viewings (!) #LetterboxdFriday

I've also got some false sunflowers popping off! They're so cheery, I'm a fan.

Squeaking in my #LastFourWatched for #LetterboxdFriday-- all first watches (Embarrassing! I know!) AFI just kicked off its Robert Altman series and The Delinquents was fun to see on the big screen. Of course, some stone cold classics that I'm pleased to have finally seen!

I asked @5dogwooddrive.bsky.social if we owned a copy of Treasure Island that I could read, and he produced from our library this stunning illustrated copy he had purchased as a child at Disney World (!)

Finally! I've been waiting ages for BBC to release the Third Doctor's first season, featuring one of my all-time favorite companions--Liz Shaw ❤️

She has made her appearance!

My baby gardening skills have yielded mixed results this year--my beautiful nasturtiums were destroyed by aphids before they bloomed--but I'm going to be really jazzed when this sunflower makes its appearance
