Couldn't recall those quotes, so I looked, and neither is correctly attributed, alas. The closest Whitman came to that was the line “O moon immense, with your silvery face you soothe me!" Plath uses the phrase "white skull" but in reference to a rock in a stream, not the moon.

I agree. They can say what they want, but consistent messaging changes minds. This is a lesson we need to learn.

Hard disagree. It's cost us many elections that we needed. Messaging is important in politics whether we like it or not

Glad to hear that about Mayor Pete. Unfortunately, the orgs have tried and failed at this goal in the past, but I agree that getting major voices on the left involved is vital.
