They/them
I'm mostly here to look at cool human art and photos, and sometimes post silly birds.
Software tester and general nerd. Views my own and not those of my employers, partners, friends, or cats.
I was more worried about this a few years ago, but now... They'd probably be left enough that most of the media would attack them obsessively for any bullshit reason, unless they're a weird nazi type of terminally online, at which point they'll get endless excuses and downplaying.

Just submitted, for once time zones work in my favour.

I haven't played Risk for years, partly because it's bullshit, but also because I can feel it turning me into the worst version of myself.

"Is The Baking Adventures of Damien Maleficus Bloodthorne suitable to but on the basement bookshelf ?": the longest thread on the Dorley sponsors Consensus server, summarily deleted by Christine 3 minutes after finding it.

Shahida removing the hard drive from her old PC so her mum doesn't stumble onto her erotic fanfic folder.

Also revising my maths from yesterday's update, reading chapters 1-46 of The Sisters of Dorley in 4 weeks works out at just over 32k words/day, so 1 book/day is totally doable if I go for a mix of lengths, and also stretch the longer books over several days, but count the day I finished it.
December 26, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Somtimes I like reading a short book and feeling like I've read several, and sometimes I read a million words set mostly between September 2019 and January 2020 on a university campus an hour down the road, and I'm still riveted throughout.
December 26, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Actually I think this was 13 books, there were a couple of short ones I didn't put in the spreadsheet. The count as of today is much higher given the Trans December Readathon.
By my final count, chapter 47 is longer than is 11 books (counting complete epubs and pdfs) I've read since June. As Happy As Pirates And Burglars edges out of a neat 12 by being just over 45k words.

So long short-story rather than novella length?
December 26, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Is this an Elle Lambert sock puppet account?

(Also how the hell has my phone keyboard already learnt the word 'puppygirl' I've only used it once or twice)
December 26, 2025 at 1:20 PM
So on a quick count, four of the books I've read in the last 6 months are shorter than this part, and another two are shorter than the total chapter 47 released so far. I'll be excited to see how many more end up in the "shorter than chapter 47" list.

Ren, collapsing dramatically on sofa, hand to forehead: "But what will I even read now that I'm caught up* on Dorley?

Also Ren looking over their tablet: "I don't know, something on our to read list, like the 2 perfectly good books you were in the middle of before getting your brain highjacked?"

It makes Christine do paperwork when she could ne kissing Paige. But yeah, aside from that, no objections.

So I'm not exactly suprised about how much I enjoyed the-character-known-for-a-while-as-Aaron's arc from little shit (derogatory) to little shit (affectionate). But after swearing I never would like them, why am I not only doing that but also finding her kinda relatable.
Already gone through one cycle of:

If you need to RP toxic masculinity, have you considered punching Aaron in the face.

Sadly that's probably a bad idea.

Wait, am I feeling sorry for the little shit.

But maybe he still needs to get slightly punched in nads as a tread.

This one is technically accidental, but let's include it for fun:
Traditional author:
"He's a billionaire which is hot, but also kinky which is also kinda hot bit mostly dark and scary but I can fix him!"

Indie transfem author:
"She's a pervert which is hot, but also a billionaire which is weird and creepy. You cannot fix her, she can only make you worse."
giga-wealthy long-established fiction author:
-won't give you extreme yuri that sates a deep-set need to see women transcend the conventional bounds of physically possible intercourse
-might donate to far right orgs with the money

indie transfem author:
-will make the yuri
-spends the money on rent

Then someone accuses that account of posting AI pics and so you send them the raw file which nuked them from orbit and so on...

Also this book is getting some attention in the TFR Reader's Choice awards and I wanted to check it out before the voting deadline tomorrow.

Once again I got this book in a bundle a while ago, but hey, it's still cheap on it's own:

Song Of The Dryads by Bailey Saxon

Not that you would be able to tell as they just leave the door open anyway.
December 25, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Planning on giving it a try over the next few days given I'm off work and don't have much in terms of plans, and it certainly sounds like an interesting way to wake up in the morning.

When I spent the day playing it on Christmas as a child I just wanted to be an elf which is totally different.
