While I love the energy of 8 AM Jackhammers, the melodic complexity of Times Square Horn Quartet makes it a much more approachable album for a first listen. Union Square Subway Screech is a good follow-up. Under the BQE is a more cerebral, ambient album that takes a few listens to really resonate.

I’ve heard so many stories of people pissing in Fountain that I’d have a hard time believing someone if they told me they *haven’t* pissed in it.

Every time they flee to some low-tax backwater, they discover there’s no culture there and come crawling back to NYC. Yet articles about the millionaires who missed New York and came back don’t serve the right purpose for the media.

If you’re getting married on Halloween, costumes should be mandatory. If the couple isn’t in full Xenomorph and Ripley getup (for example) they should at least be required to pick something out of a sad costume box before the officiant will start.
