For decades, my music has earned a few cents here, a few thousandths of a penny there. Now, suddenly, I’m making quarterly royalties of thousands of dollars…mostly off of ONE SONG about marijuana I squirted out on GarageBand in 2012. The UK and Germany are my biggest markets.

The US is too big. We should all stop paying our federal taxes (like the IRS is strong enough to do anything). With a sufficiently weakened federal government, states can break away on their own terms. Red states are a cancer anyway. We don’t need them. They need California and New York.

When I came back from Korea, I was like, “How bad could it be? I’ll live in Hawaii.” Well, Hawaii is the most American of states. I’m appalled. I’ll be going right back to Korea and staying there.

Today, a social studies teacher I worked with recommended “Rooters” and the Washington Post as reputable sources for the students’ weekly current events. This is why I’m too cynical to get a permanent position. It’s also why I’m moving to a country that punishes rogue presidents. Fuck everything.
